voices of time, when was the last time i last heard a good speech.
was it winston churchill with the iron curtain?
was it hitler with his eccentric hand movements?
obama did it, his charisma, his choices of words, his promises. they hit hard upon your heart. they don't just paint a bright future, the words used create a joy within your heart. the power of words, the power of language. the power of human to human communication
speech is indeed more important than anything else two individuals can share. yes, a picture paints a thousand words, but without words, nothing is explained. and speech is important in our daily witnessing. the wisest choice of words we choose. the tactfulness we will appreciate.
speech can be effectively dangerous as well. we never know when our supposedly brilliant promises painted with flowery languages could be something we could never keep up to. what drives your speech today? for obama, its his passion for nation, at least i hope. for you and me. what do our everyday conversations and words used mean to us. something so simple but yet can be so profound.
my prayer today is that my speech would seek to build people up. build lives up not by mere promises. but what follows after speech? your actions.
26As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.
James 2:26 (New International Version)
my prayer to be humble everyday. amen
